Giving back

So, a while back, Apple opened up the development of WebKit to outside contributors, and from what I gather, those people have helped make WebKit one of the best, if not the best, rendering engines out there. So Apple is now saying thanks:

As a thank you, we are giving MacBook Pro computers to twelve of our top contributors. We’ve also invited five of them to attend Apple’s Worldwide Developer’s Conference 2006 “on Apple’s dime?”.

Not bad. And not that expensive for Apple compared to what they get back out of it.

I just discovered another way to get a MacBook Pro: Sourcesense, an open source company, started a contest for getting a company logo. The winner gets a MacBook Pro. The Website is http://www.sourcesense.com, the deadline is March 7th.
