The Apple of Web 2.0

I’ve written before about the brilliance that is DabbleDB. I can’t say enough good things about it, and it just keeps getting better. Not just weekly, but sometimes hourly. The latest improvement, though subtle, demonstrates the level of care that is taken with the system. Upload a custom logo, and DabbleDB actually analyzes the logo to find the best color pallette to go with it. Not a preset, but a custom one.

Once again, brilliant. Smallthought Systems is giving the Web 2.0 application world the level of nuance, detail and obsessive focus on quality that are the hallmark of companies like Apple. It truly is all in the details, or in the words of the authors:

It turned out to be a much bigger feature to implement than any of us expected. But it wins by being a smaller feature for our users. All they have to do is upload their logo and they’ll have a custom Dabble. That’s it.

But isn’t that what it’s all about?
