The Great Purge

As I ready myself to move, I have made the decision to go sans boob tube, although some have had odd reactions to such a decision, and that has been one of the more freeing decisions of my life. Once you undertake to reduce the amount of “stuff” in your life, it’s cleansing. Now, I also am intending to get rid of my big stereo system—something I rarely get to enjoy any more—and other electronic gadgets that I’ve accumulated over the years.

Craigslist, here I come.

If you don’t get a decent offer for your stereo, let YS know. We might be interested.

We cancelled our cable TV service back in Oct 2006. Don’t miss watching or paying for it. We still have the TV set but we use it to play video games (mostly classic games on an old Atari 7800 Pro System console) and watch DVD movies.

Let me know if the Wii needs a good home.

Good for you, Chris. I can’t agree more about the stuff reduction. My wife and I once had to temporarily relocate for work, so we didn’t take much with us. All of a sudden, we had time to relax: reading, hiking, phone calls to friends who lived far away, etc. When we came home, we promptly got rid of a bunch of stuff.

I might consider joint custody of the Wii, but only if I get to visit it on alternating weekends. :)
