Slides From the Past, Part Deux
I’ve started posting the slides, and you can find them on my flickr account. I’ve still got a long way to go, but I’m going to try and make some constant progress.

neat slides! Farmers were still using oxen in 1978 on the smaller paddies. By that time, the government had begun a program of “rectification” – bulldozing smaller, contour paddies into larger rectangular plots. Eliminating contour levies was calculated to increase amount of arable land by up to 25% (in a country where 75% of the land area was too vertical farm); making the paddies larger and rectangular allowed farmers to replace ox and human plows with machinery.
