Privacy Respecting Analytics

In the long-distant past, I, like most people on the Internet, leveraged Google Analytics to keep track of visitors to the website. Unfortunately, that’s also a privacy nightmare for so many reasons. Earlier this year, based on complaints by NOYB, the Austrian , French , and Italian have all ruled that use of Google Analytics violates the privacy guarantees their citizens expect. So, I yanked all tracking off.

Then, today, Thomas Fuchs tweeted something that caught my eye.

N.B. This tweet is no longer public and has been removed.

After reading into their approach and focus, and preferring to pay for service, rather than be vacuumed up as part of it, I decided to shift over. We shall see how this goes. I will be keeping an eye on things.
